You may recall that a while ago we had some visitors to our local cross stitch group; more on the club site blog in a while. Well they very kindly left us some kits as a gift and I chose one of them as a future project.
Thought I would let you know about some visitors we had to our cross stitch club last meeting. As you may recall I am a member of Spen Valley Cross Stitch Club, and it was our meeting last Wednesday.
Well the stitching is done! Am really pleased with the finished design, just need to make it into a cushion now.
Well the Christmas cards are in the box ready for December, at least the first batch are. Can’t quite believe I’ve got some of my cards done and it’s only January – wow! Our cross stitch exhibition didn’t go quite as well this time as we’d hoped. We usually have a busy hall filled with people browsing the work, drinking tea and spending money! But this one was quiet by comparison. A pity, as there was some lovely work on display. I forgot to take my camera (don’t ask, it was one of those days!) so unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to show you. Read the rest of this entry
Time for a plug for the cross stitch club that I attend.
It’s called – believe it or not from the title, Spen Valley Cross Stitch Club. We meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month, 7.30pm to 9pm at the Central Methodist Church in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, BD19 5AR. Our leader is Hazel Powell and she can be contacted on 01274 862 071 or by emailing.
We’re a friendly bunch and hold occasional exhibitions of our work at Saturday coffee mornings. We get together to chat, sew and have a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.
Get in touch with Hazel if you think you’d like to come along and join us! Their website may be found at www.spenvalleycrossstitch.com
